CNC Fun

Recently put a 1/4" endmill on my CNC and all of a sudden it can machine wood and the like insanely fast compared to my 1/8" ones. Now I get to look forward to buying all new endmills :')

Also turns out that I was redlining the current capacity of my emergency stop switch since the load from the new endmill allowed me to smoke it. Thankfully it still passes 120v but will sag with current draw past ~3A. As a result, I got to have the fun task of making a new dust collection/router control box that sits external to the main control box.

Also, does anyone know of a good way to keep my dust collection boot from clogging up? It works fine for a while, but long stringy chips eventually clog it and I have to go at it with the shop vac to unjam it before the boot gets full and pops off. I figure I have to drop my tool engagement, as dropping from 90% to 50% reduced it, but I don't want to drop too low. Do you think I just need a different feedrate maybe?
Yours truly,
Ayydan
